Pest Control Insulation and everything you need to know about Blown In Insulation. Outperforming traditional insulation by 32%. As an EPA-registered pesticide, Pest Control Insulation, first and foremost, controls common pests that invade the home through the attic.

Keeping pests out of your property!

Insects thrive in attics. Attics are warmer than outside, providing an oasis from the elements, and there usually aren't any people in there to bother the pests. With TAP Insulation, you can rest assured that you are protected from:

  • Cockroaches
  • Bed Bugs
  • Ants
  • Termites
  • Earwigs
  • Centipedes
  • Stink Bugs
  • Beetles
  • Pill Bugs
  • Boxelder Bugs
  • Book Lice
  • Crickets
  • Silverfish

When added to existing insulation or installed on its own, Thermal Acoustical Pest Control Insulation controls bugs and helps to keep the air in the living areas of our clients’ homes comfortable. It reduces the required energy needed to heat or cool the home and, in turn, reduces our clients’ heating and cooling costs.

Uniquely offering two solutions in one product: an energy-efficient blown-in insulation coupled with the added value of pest control. Pest Control Insulation helps keep the bugs out and comfort in! In addition to killing self-grooming insects, you can also expect the thermal and acoustical properties of TAP to increase the comfort of your home. Not sure what to expect?

Our Blown In Insulation Process:

Inspection

Before Blown In Insulation can be installed in your home, your attic must be inspected. This inspection will give our installation team information that they will need for the install such as the number of bags needed, the location of any heat sources that may need to be blocked off, insight into the attic’s ventilation, and the condition of the existing insulation.

At the close of the inspection, Our pest management professional will make a recommendation to either remove your old insulation before adding Pest Control Insulation or to simply add a cap of Pest Control Insulation directly over your existing insulation.

Attic Preparation

After protecting the living areas of your home, our installation crew will begin work in your attic. The crew will create barriers around any heat-producing sources and will ensure that none of the ventilation in your attic will be blocked by the newly installed insulation. They will also install attic rulers to assist them in installing an even layer of Pest Control Insulation in your attic.

Installation

Once your home and attic are prepped, the installer will run a 3-inch hose into your attic. The specialized machinery that the install team uses is typically run off of household power. Typically, there is one crew member in the attic blowing the insulation and one crew member loading the insulation and operating the insulation machine.

Quality Control

Once the installation is complete, our crew will re-inspect the attic to ensure that there is an even spread of insulation that is equal to the initial agreed upon R-value. The crew will then clean up after themselves.

Signs it is Time for New Insulation

Improving your home is a focus of homeowners today. Decorating, gardening, and creating a sense of comfort is a priority as the home is where we make our memories and build our lives.

Here are 4 signs that it is time for new insulation:

1. High Energy Bills

Nine of ten homes in the U.S. today are under insulated according to the U.S. Department of Energy. Homeowners are tossing their hard-earned money into the wind. Opting to replace or enhance existing insulation with new insulation is a move towards a more energy efficient direction. When the home is properly insulated, the home’s heating/cooling system doesn’t have to work as hard and the home’s occupants are more comfortable. Installing an insulation with a high R-value such as TAP Pest Control Insulation, less insulation is needed to achieve energy efficient savings on annual heating and cooling costs according to Energy Star.

2. House Is Drafty

While the culprit here can be poorly sealed windows and doors, the likely answer to improving your home is to increase the insulation. Blocking out those chilly or freezing outdoor temperatures during the winter months is the job of your insulation. When you are experiencing drafty cold air in your living spaces, your insulation may be the culprit.

3. Allergies

There are times when the insulation can become moldy due to mildew. When the attic is not properly ventilated, the attic can’t breathe. This builds up moisture and creates the opportunity for mold and mildew to take up residence. Another factor to consider is the presence of cockroaches crawling through insulation in search of shelter and sustenance which have been linked to allergies and asthma.

4. Visible Pest

Pest are unwanted house guests any time during the year. In addition to bacteria and disease they can bring into the home, they can also weaken or destroy the home’s structure. The key with pests is to consider an insulation that is an EPA-registered pesticide. How do you know if it is an EPA-registered pesticide? Read the label.

Pests love foam. Spray foam insulation, or spray polyurethane foam (SPF) can actually mask pest presence in the home. If termites, for example, are present in your attic or crawl space, by the time they are discovered, significant damage may have already occurred.

Most insulation products contain boron in small doses to pass the mold and flame retardancy tests. However, Pest Control Insulation is one of the two in the United States that has an EPA registration proven to control pests. In addition, Pest Control Insulation is Energy Star rated and UL Classified. The benefits are easily identified and set it apart from other insulations on the market.
