Why is mold growing in my home?
Molds are part of the natural environment. Outdoors, molds play a part in nature by breaking down dead organic matter such as fallen leaves and dead trees, but indoors, mold growth should be avoided. Molds reproduce by means of tiny spores; the spores are invisible to the naked eye and float through outdoor and indoor air. Mold may begin growing indoors when mold spores land on surfaces that are wet. There are many types of molds, and none of them will grow without water or moisture.
What Types of Water Damage Does Insurance Cover? Homeowners insurance policies can significantly reduce the financial burden of home repairs. Generally, water damage that is considered “sudden and accidental” is covered (like a burst pipe) but not gradual damage, like a leaking bathroom sink. Here are some common problems that are typically not covered by a standard homeowners insurance policy!

This method is lethal to many biological organisms that often accompany a wet building. Structural Pasteurization will dry the structure rapidly and kill pathogens associated with water damage. Many water losses involve contamination. However, even clean water losses can result in significant contamination levels if the drying process is not completed quickly. A clean water loss can become contaminated by travel over contaminated areas or just the passage of time. The presence of odor with your water loss is a good indicator of contamination. Precision Environmental will dry the structure, reduce the contaminant, and kill the odor.

When is Total Loss Inventory needed?
When contents have become damaged/contaminated, the customer is making a claim through a third party (i.e., insurance carrier, property management co.) to seek compensation. The Precision Environmental team of Total Loss Inventory specialists will photograph all items; create a detailed list with as much information as possible, including physical description, size, brand, model, year of manufacture and location within your property. Once completed, it will be sent to assist the property owner with providing, to their best ability, the original purchase price, location of purchase, and year of purchase. The List is then sent to the adjuster who has the items valued. The valuation process is used to determine reimbursement. The Total Loss Inventory Report is key to ensure accuracy for both you and your insurance claims adjuster.
Mold is one word that can send property owners into a panic, especially in summer of record-high temperatures and humidity. But what really is the dreaded intruder, and could it be the blame for those unexpected summer illnesses? Mold growth speeds up when it’s indoors. Mold’s tiny reproductive cells, called spores, are easily released into the air, and an enclosed space amplifies their ability to make contact with one another. There are hundreds of species of mold. Some of those species are less dangerous, like penicillin, which has antibacterial properties and is used in antibiotic medication. But others could make you sick.
